T2 document for your goods
You use a T2 document as a transit document for your shipments within the European Union to or through one of the EFTA countries. These are Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland. There is a difference between a T1 document and a T2 document for customs. In fact, with a T1 document, you are transporting non-European Union goods. With a T2 document, the goods come from Europe but are transported through countries not in the European Union. The T2 transit document is convenient for transporters. You don't have to wait as long at borders and you can just drive to your destination. De Rijke Logistics is happy to help you prepare a T2 document for the transportation of your goods.
Different T2 documents
There are a number of different T2 documents. In fact, in addition to the regular T2 document, there is also the T2L document and the T2L (F) document. The T2L document has the same status as the T2 document. It applies to goods that can be transported freely. If you transport the goods by ocean vessel within the European Union, you must be able to prove that the goods are from the European Union. You do this with a T2L document. The T2L (F) document works slightly differently again. You need this document when you transport goods to a customs territory that is not part of the VAT territory.
These include the French Overseas Departments, the Canary Islands, the Channel Islands and Mount Athos in Greece. You therefore need a CO-A.
Assistance in requesting a T2 document
Are you the selling party of the goods? If so, you are required to provide the T2 document. In fact, as a seller, you are responsible for the goods you transport. You can apply for the T2 export document yourself, but it is much easier if De Rijke Logistics does it for you. Thanks to our knowledge and experience, we are able to devise and provide solutions for T2 transit.
The benefits of requesting a T2 document through De Rijke Logistics
When you enlist our help in requesting a T2 document, you can rest assured that everything has been considered. The nice thing about a T2 document is that you can simply transport the goods from the European Union between customs territories without changing the customs status. Suppose you want to transport goods from the Netherlands to Italy via Liechtenstein. You can then continue driving as normal with the T2 document. This saves you a lot of time at the border, but also eliminates the need to pay import duties at EFTA countries. It is possible to list multiple export shipments on the T2 document.
