Expansion of the Terminal Tractor Fleet for De Rijke

02 February 2026- Last week, we commissioned another extremely robust, sustainable, and easy‑to‑maintain terminal tractor at our Rotterdam site. This latest addition to our fleet offers our drivers an exceptional level of comfort and ergonomics. The cab suspension can be described as best-in-class, and thanks to the logically positioned fingertip controls—placed directly next to the driver’s seat—operations can be carried out quickly, safely, and intuitively.

In addition, the deployment and availability of our terminal tractor fleet are further optimised through the latest Terberg Connect telematics software. This enables real-time monitoring of performance and planning, allowing us to schedule maintenance more efficiently and ensure maximum operational uptime.

Additional Capacity at Our Location

With the introduction of this new terminal tractor, we are not only expanding our equipment fleet but also increasing the overall capacity at our Rotterdam terminal. The tractor enables us to better absorb peak volumes, accelerate dock-related activities, and further reduce waiting times for both internal and external transport flows.

This leads directly to improved throughput, higher reliability for our customers, and greater flexibility in our day-to-day operations. For our planners and drivers, this translates into noticeably more breathing room and agility—especially as demand for logistics services continues to grow.

Sustainability as a Clear Step Forward

This terminal tractor will operate exclusively on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a renewable fuel that can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel. With this transition, we are once again taking a concrete step forward in our broader sustainability ambitions.

Beyond the use of HVO, the truck’s modern engineering also contributes to reduced environmental impact. This includes more efficient engine management, optimised driving and idling hours via telematics, and a design that requires less wear-and-tear and maintenance. Together, these elements ensure that our operations become not only more reliable but also significantly cleaner and more future‑proof.
